Why do you need to charge new mobile phones for so long when you first buy it?
Just wondering why it needs to be charged for 8 hours when it appears fully charged after 1 or 2?

You are essentially activating the battery. It is fresh out of the box, from the factory. It needs time to wake up and adjust.
Becuase when you first buy a phone it has never been charged before so basicly you are saving a bunch of charge for when you will need it later on.
